It can be difficult to take your children to the dentist as many have a fear of the dentist. Believe it or not, many adults also have some level of anxiety about going to the dentist. Dr. Cabana and staff will do all we can to make you and your family feel at home. Sometimes, however, a patient’s anxiety makes their dental experience unpleasant and can make their dental procedure take longer than needed. For these instances where the patient’s anxiety interferes with their dental care, we have the option to utilize nitrous oxide sedation (also called laughing gas). Nitrous oxide sedation is the most common form of sedation and it is the least potent and safest. When patients are administered nitrous oxide, they are relaxed and conscious. They are still alert and can talk. After the dental procedure is completed, the effects of the nitrous oxide wear off immediately with the introduction of oxygen. Nitrous oxide is non-threatening to children and allows them to relax so we can get their dental procedure done quickly and smoothly. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to have all your family’s dental needs met in one place.

Dr. Cabana grew up in a family of dentists where he knew early on that he wanted to follow in the family tradition. HE has been actively volunteering in the Tega Cay community for many years.
